Effective communication with the public and with external/internal stakeholders is integral to building and maintaining the Wales Deanery's reputation.
The Communications Team is responsible for managing, promoting, and protecting the Wales Deanery’s corporate reputation externally. They handle all press and media relations, and manage the Wales Deanery’s relationship with politicians and opinion formers.
As well as providing strategic advice to the Postgraduate Dean and the Wales Deanery Manager, the Team engages with both internal and wider constituents to improve awareness and understanding of Wales Deanery activities. They also produce a bi-annual magazine called 'Deanery View' for all external stakeholders.
In addition to leading and producing announcements for all Wales Deanery staff (some of which are done through 'Deanery Connection', the online staff newsletter), the Communications Team are responsible for an internal programme of events, whereby staff can network with colleagues, and learn more about the work undertaken across the organisation. This programme includes:
- Staff away days
- Staff coffee mornings
- Informal events for staff organised by the Social Committee
The Team manages the Wales Deanery’s brand, offering assistance around appropriate use of the organisation's visual identity (as per corporate guidelines), and they also support staff with marketing needs: from general promotions, to management of high-quality marketing materials.
If you have any suggestions or comments for the Communications Team, or would like to receive regular updates regarding events or any opportunities to learn more about the Wales Deanery’s innovative work, then please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
