At the Wales Deanery the HR team aims to lead and develop staff to help maximise their performance, fulfil strategic obligations and recruit and retain high quality people.

All Cardiff University HR policies and forms can be accessed by staff on the Cardiff University Intranet via Core portal. The University’s HR management tool, Pobl, can be found here. This is where staff can view their HR and payroll data online and submit annual leave requests.

The Wales Deanery is very supportive in terms of training and development of staff and the HR team provides staff with advice and support. The training and development policy and procedure can be found here and the application form here.

The Wales Deanery has established a safety, health and environment management system to ensure appropriate management of its obligations and support the Wales Deanery’s commitment to:

  • The prevention of injury and ill health and continual improvement in health and safety performance
  • The prevention of pollution and continual improvement in environmental performance in all its operations
  • Meeting statutory safety, health and environment requirements and other requirements to which the Wales Deanery and Cardiff University subscribe, relating to safety, health and environment.

The SHE Management System is led by the Management Executive and implemented by line managers on a day to day basis. The objectives can be viewed here.  All other SHE documents, including risk assessments, are made readily available to staff.
